GEOGRAPHICAL INDICATIONS IN CAMBODIA
Cambodia has many traditional specialties that eventually stand to benefit from the Geographical Indications (GIs) system. Producer expertise has led to many popular food items that are resources to be enhanced for the national and export market, to showcase Cambodia’s rich agriculture and food heritage for tourists.
In Cambodia, there is a real potential for the development of GIs. Numerous traditional products are renowned for their quality in connection with the area where they are produced, such as Kampot Pepper, Kampot durian, Phnom Srok silk, Battambang rice and many others.
